Hi, I'm Sitanan, the reader and writer behind Fable & Mind.

Like many fantasy and romantasy readers, I first picked up books because I wanted to escape into another world. What I didn't expect was how deeply those stories would affect me.

Some books stay with me long after I finish the last page. They change how I see people, how I understand myself, and even the values I carry through life. Every time I finish a book, or even a film, I often feel like I've become a slightly different person than the one who started it.

    That feeling made me curious.

Why do some stories affect us so deeply while others don't? Why do certain fictional characters feel so real? Why do we carry lessons from imaginary worlds into our everyday lives?

Those questions eventually became Fable & Mind.

I don't believe books give us all the answers, but I do believe they hold up a mirror. They help us see different perspectives, question our assumptions, and recognise emotions we may not have had words for before. In many ways, reading is an act of self discovery.

This is my little corner of the internet where I explore the psychology and philosophy behind fantasy and romantasy stories. I write about why certain books leave such a lasting emotional impact, what they can teach us about ourselves, and why I believe stories are far more than just entertainment.

I've always dreamed of becoming a writer. Life simply took me in a different direction. My path became a little more practical and eventually led me into a corporate career, one that I genuinely enjoy. But my love for stories never faded. If anything, it has only grown stronger.

I don't claim to have all the answers. Everything you'll find here comes from my own curiosity, reflections, and love of stories, shared with anyone who finds themselves asking the same questions.

If even one article helps someone see a story, or even themselves, in a different way, then starting Fable & Mind will have been completely worth it.

    Our Mission

Fable & Mind is a space for readers who want more than escape. Through fantasy, romantasy, and psychology, it explores why certain books move us so deeply and what those reactions can teach us about ourselves.

Whether you're here to explore the psychology behind your favourite fantasy series, find your next read, reflect on your reading habits, or simply spend time with people who love stories as much as you do, I'm glad you're here.

You can explore my book psychology articles, browse my personal journal, take a book quiz, vote in a reader poll, or get personalized book recommendations. And if you enjoy atmospheric fantasy, you can also dip into my original short stories. Small worlds to step into whenever you need a brief escape.

We grow when we write, when we listen, and when we read. So let's do it together. It's more meaningful, and a lot more fun, that way.

Thank you for being here. I hope Fable & Mind gives you a space to think a little deeper about the stories you love and the person reading them.
